Big update here. A bunch of “Plastic Beach” news has just surfaced.

According to the press release, the album will be released on March 9th, 2010. The press release also said: “The band have taken up residence, recording on a secret floating island deep in the South Pacific, a Plastic Beach HQ, made up of the detritus, debris and washed up remnants of humanity. This Plastic Beach is the furthest point from any landmass on Earth; the most deserted spot on the planet.”

I’m excited about the theatrics and the insane list of performers collaborating on the album: Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Lou Reed, Barry Gibb, De La Soul, Mark E. Smith from the Fall, Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals, and Mick Jones and Paul Simonon of the Clash.

This is exciting news for Gorillaz fans. Here’s the tracklist in full.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have sent out an email to their fans unexpectedly announcing the release date of the follow up to 2007’s disastrous “Baby 81″. The album titled “Beat The Devil’s Tattoo” marks a few things for the band.

First off, its competing for “Most Awesomely Titled Record of All Time, Ever, Period”. Secondly, it marks the bands second occasion in parting ways with their original drummer Nick Jago. The last time this happened we got “Howl” which was a piece of brilliance that the band hasn’t been able to surpass since its release. Fortunately, their upcoming fifth album was written and recorded in the exact same place “Howl” was. Score. Thirdly, this is their first album with their new drummer Leah Shapiro of The Raveonettes. Trash rock and shoegaze fans, get excited.

The album will be released on March 9th in the US, and are following it with a massive tour that will take them from Sacramento all the way to Longirock, Switzerland.

I know this is my first post, and I’m writing up a good opening post to put up soon. I just wanted to get this out as I didn’t see it on very many blogs or radars. Go me.

Great BRMC video below.
